Description
EXTRUTEX PVC Wall Panel, Ceiling Panel and Windowsill Extrusion Line
The EXTRUTEX PVC Wall Panel, Ceiling Panel and Windowsill Extrusion Line is designed for the continuous production of PVC decorative building materials used in residential, commercial, hospitality, and interior renovation projects. Manufactured by EXTRUTEX, these extrusion lines can be configured for different panel widths, product thicknesses, surface designs, and production capacities to meet the requirements of individual manufacturers.
PVC extrusion technology allows manufacturers to produce lightweight decorative panels and profiles with consistent dimensions and repeatable surface finishes. Depending on the product design and compound formulation, PVC panels can offer convenient installation, moisture resistance, easy cleaning, and a practical alternative to selected traditional interior finishing materials.
EXTRUTEX provides different equipment configurations for narrow decorative panels, medium-width wall and ceiling panels, wider decorative boards, and large-format products. Available configurations include the EX240, EX300/400, and EX600, with additional EX800 and EX1200 line configurations for wider products. The EX800 and EX1200 options can be arranged with a nominal 12-metre line length, subject to confirmation of the complete equipment layout.
Each line is selected according to the customer's product design, PVC formulation, target output, factory conditions, and downstream requirements. Extruder selection, screw and barrel design, die tooling, calibration, cooling, haul-off, cutting, and stacking equipment should be coordinated to achieve the required product quality and production efficiency.
1. Applications of PVC Extruded Building Materials
PVC decorative extrusion products are used in a wide range of interior construction and renovation applications. Their appearance and performance depend on the formulation, product structure, surface treatment, installation method, and intended environment.
- PVC wall panels: Decorative wall coverings for homes, hotels, offices, shops, and commercial interiors.
- PVC ceiling panels: Suspended ceiling systems and decorative ceiling finishes.
- PVC windowsills: Extruded sill profiles and window finishing components manufactured to the required cross-section.

Technical note: EX800 and EX1200 are additional requested configurations. Their extruder models, motor powers, capacities, cooling-water requirements, and compressed-air consumption must be established through engineering design. The 12-metre length refers to the requested nominal line configuration; the final layout, working length, and space requirements should be confirmed in the technical proposal. Actual output also depends on panel cross-section, wall thickness, compound, die design, and cooling conditions.
3. Extruder and Screw Design
The extruder is the central component of the production line. It processes the PVC compound and supplies a continuous, temperature-controlled melt to the extrusion die. Stable melting and mixing are essential for consistent product dimensions, surface quality, and production performance.
EXTRUTEX configures the extruder according to the required panel width, product structure, formulation, and output target. Screw geometry, barrel design, heating zones, motor capacity, and operating parameters must be suitable for the selected PVC compound. Wider panels or products with more demanding cross-sections may require a different extrusion configuration from narrow decorative profiles.
Material preparation is also important. Depending on the formulation and factory process, the production system may require a mixer, dosing equipment, conveying equipment, or other auxiliary units. These systems should be included in the quotation if a complete raw-material preparation solution is required.
4. Extrusion Die and Product Design
The extrusion die determines the initial cross-section of the PVC panel or profile. Its design must distribute the melt evenly across the product width and account for wall thickness, internal ribs, cavities, connecting features, and other structural details.
EXTRUTEX can assess tooling requirements according to customer drawings, product samples, or dimensional specifications. The die should be designed for the intended PVC formulation and production rate to help achieve consistent flow and reduce dimensional variation.
Different products may require different dies even when they are manufactured on the same extrusion platform. Wall panels, ceiling panels, and windowsills have different cross-sections and functional requirements. Product tooling should therefore be selected separately according to each design. Confirm whether dies for one or multiple products are included in the final quotation.
5. Calibration and Cooling System
After leaving the die, the hot PVC profile must be cooled while its dimensions and shape are controlled. Calibration and cooling equipment help the panel retain the intended width, thickness, flatness, and cross-sectional geometry as the material solidifies.
Depending on the product design, the line may use vacuum calibration, cooling tanks, support tables, or a combination of these components. The specific arrangement depends on panel geometry, material formulation, production speed, and required surface quality.
For wide panels, consistent support and uniform cooling are particularly important. Uneven cooling or insufficient calibration can contribute to warping, dimensional variation, or surface defects. The cooling system should therefore be designed together with the extruder, die, and downstream equipment rather than selected independently.
6. Haul-Off, Cutting and Stacking Equipment
Haul-Off Unit
The haul-off pulls the extruded panel through the calibration and cooling section at a controlled speed. Stable pulling helps coordinate the line and maintain consistent product dimensions. The haul-off design must provide sufficient contact and traction without damaging the panel surface.
Cutting Unit
The cutting unit cuts the continuous product into the required lengths. Cutting parameters and equipment configuration depend on the panel dimensions, material characteristics, production speed, and required length tolerance. The cutting system should be coordinated with the haul-off and line-control system to support repeatable results.
Stacking and Product Collection
Stacking equipment supports the organized collection of finished panels for inspection, packaging, and transport. Wide and long panels may require additional support to prevent bending, scratching, or deformation during handling.
The exact downstream arrangement should be confirmed according to the intended product length, panel weight, production volume, and factory layout. Automatic stacking and additional handling equipment can be considered where required.
7. Decorative Finishes and Surface Options
PVC wall and ceiling panels are available in many decorative styles. Depending on the product and finishing process, manufacturers can target different colors, textures, and visual effects to suit interior design trends.
- Solid colors: Uniform colors for contemporary residential and commercial interiors.
- Wood-effect finishes: Decorative patterns designed to resemble selected woodgrain appearances.
- Marble and stone effects: Printed or laminated designs for decorative wall surfaces.
- Embossed surfaces: Textured finishes created through suitable downstream finishing equipment or tooling.
- Gloss and matte finishes: Surface appearances selected according to the product design and finishing method.
- Customized designs: Product-specific colors, textures, and dimensions based on customer requirements.
Surface printing, lamination, embossing, or protective coating may require additional equipment that is separate from the basic extrusion line. The final quotation should identify which finishing processes are included and which are optional.
8. Advantages of the EXTRUTEX PVC Panel Extrusion Line
Flexible Production Configurations
EXTRUTEX provides different machine configurations for narrow, medium, wide, and large-format products. The line can be assessed according to the target product dimensions, PVC compound, and production capacity.
Production Efficiency
A properly matched extruder, die, calibration system, and haul-off can support continuous production and reduce interruptions caused by unstable processing. Actual output depends on the product design, compound, operating conditions, and equipment configuration.
Practical Operation
An appropriately designed control system allows operators to monitor key settings and coordinate extrusion with downstream equipment. Clear operating procedures and operator training help support repeatable production and more efficient product changeovers.
Consistent Product Dimensions
Correct die design, calibration, cooling, and haul-off control work together to support dimensional consistency. These factors are particularly important for wide panels and products that must fit into a defined installation system.
Customized Engineering
EXTRUTEX can evaluate different line layouts and auxiliary equipment according to the customer's production objectives. For EX800 and EX1200, the extrusion system and downstream machinery should be engineered as a complete solution for the required width and nominal line length.
9. Material and Product Performance
PVC decorative panels can offer several practical advantages when correctly formulated and installed. Depending on the product construction, they may be lightweight, easy to clean, resistant to routine moisture exposure, and convenient to install. Certain panel structures can also contribute to the functional performance of a building interior.
However, performance is not identical across all PVC products. Impact resistance, flexural strength, load capacity, sound insulation, thermal insulation, and fire behavior depend on the formulation, panel thickness, internal structure, surface layers, and installation system. Manufacturers should validate these properties using suitable tests and applicable standards before making specific performance claims.
PVC can be recycled through suitable material recovery processes where collection and recycling infrastructure is available. Actual recyclability depends on additives, coatings, contamination, and local recycling capabilities.
10. Installation and Maintenance
Before installation, customers should prepare sufficient floor space, a suitable foundation, the required electrical supply, cooling-water connections, and any compressed-air utilities specified for the selected configuration. The final equipment layout should allow safe access for operation, tooling changes, maintenance, and product handling.
- Verify the PVC formulation and material preparation requirements.
- Inspect the extrusion die and calibration tooling before production.
- Check cooling-water flow and temperature stability.
- Confirm the haul-off speed and cutting settings.
- Inspect drive systems, electrical connections, guards, and emergency stops.
- Clean tooling and product-contact surfaces according to the maintenance instructions.
- Follow a planned maintenance schedule for screws, barrels, bearings, cutters, and downstream components.
Operators should follow the machine manual and site safety procedures, particularly around hot surfaces, rotating components, cutting mechanisms, electrical systems, and moving panels.
11. How to Select the Correct Model
The most suitable EXTRUTEX line depends on more than maximum product width. Before selecting a model, manufacturers should define the product cross-section, wall thickness, PVC compound, target output, required length, and decorative finishing process.
- EX240: For products up to 240 mm wide, subject to the confirmed product design.
- EX300/400: For products up to 300 or 400 mm wide, according to the selected configuration.
- EX600: For wider panels up to 600 mm.
- EX800: A requested configuration for panels up to 800 mm wide with a nominal 12-metre line length.
- EX1200: A requested configuration for panels up to 1,200 mm wide with a nominal 12-metre line length.
The EX800 and EX1200 configurations require detailed engineering confirmation, particularly for extruder selection, die dimensions, calibration length, cooling capacity, haul-off arrangement, and handling of wide panels. Providing a product drawing or sample will help establish a realistic production target and complete equipment specification.
