EXTRUTEX Luminous PLA Color Masterbatch – Long-Lasting Glow Green, Blue and Purple
EXTRUTEX Luminous PLA Color Masterbatch is a specialized luminescent color concentrate developed for compatible polylactic acid (PLA) materials. Designed to create attractive glow-in-the-dark effects, this masterbatch combines luminescent pigments with a polymer carrier to help manufacturers produce PLA products with visible afterglow.
Available in green, blue and purple luminescent color options, the product is suitable for customized PLA applications where distinctive appearance, light absorption and long-lasting light emission are required. It can be considered for compatible PLA extrusion processes, including the production of decorative components and 3D printing filament.
By incorporating the luminescent concentrate into a compatible PLA formulation, manufacturers can create products that absorb light energy and gradually emit visible light in darker environments. Customized colors and glow effects can be developed according to product requirements.
Classic luminous green effect for decorative and visually distinctive PLA products.
Cool blue luminescent appearance for customized products and creative applications.
Distinctive purple glow option for special decorative designs and customized PLA products.
The visible color of a product under normal lighting may differ from its emitted glow color in darkness. Actual results depend on pigment chemistry, pigment loading, PLA grade, product thickness and light exposure.
Luminous pigments absorb energy when exposed to suitable light. After the light source is removed, the stored energy is gradually released as visible light, producing an afterglow effect.
Glow brightness and duration are influenced by light intensity, exposure time, pigment concentration, resin compatibility, product thickness and ambient darkness. The emitted light gradually decreases as stored energy is released.

For consistent luminous performance, the masterbatch should be matched with the PLA resin grade and the intended manufacturing process. A production trial is recommended before commercial manufacturing.
Luminous PLA masterbatch is a concentrated additive designed to give compatible PLA materials a glow-in-the-dark effect. It contains luminescent pigment dispersed in a polymer carrier. After exposure to suitable light, the pigment stores energy and gradually releases it as visible light. It can be used to develop decorative PLA products and glow-in-the-dark 3D printing filament.
The available color options include green, blue and purple. Customized color development can also be discussed according to the desired appearance, glow color and application. The final result should be evaluated using actual PLA production samples.
It can be considered for compatible PLA filament extrusion. The masterbatch carrier, pigment particle characteristics and formulation must be suitable for the filament production process. Manufacturers should test extrusion stability, filament diameter consistency, surface quality and nozzle performance before commercial production.
Yes, it is developed for long-lasting luminous performance. The actual afterglow duration depends on the luminescent pigment, concentration, charging light, exposure time, product thickness and surrounding darkness. Request measured brightness and afterglow test data when a specific performance target is required.
Yes. Photoluminescent pigments can generally be recharged by exposure to suitable natural or artificial light. The stored energy is then gradually released as visible light. Repeated charging allows the glow effect to be activated again without replacing the pigment.
Yes. Green, blue and purple are the stated color options, and customized formulations can be discussed. Customers should provide a target color reference, application details and the desired luminous performance to help determine a suitable formulation.
Luminescent pigments generally influence the optical appearance of PLA, and the final product may become less transparent or more opaque depending on the pigment type and concentration. If transparency is important, sample testing is necessary to balance the glow effect and visual appearance.
PLA is a polymer associated with industrial compostability under specific conditions, but adding a luminescent pigment and carrier can change the properties of the complete formulation. The finished masterbatch-containing product should not automatically be described as biodegradable or compostable without suitable testing and certification.
